FESPA Award Winning CMYK T-Shirt Print

Our award-winning CMYK t-shirt, recognised at FESPA, showcases our mastery of full-colour screen printing.

Design Process

The journey began with a challenge for our in-house graphics team to create an t-shirt design packed full of colour using a CMYK palette. Once the design was finalized, we focused on achieving the best colour reproduction. After extensive testing, we chose FM (stochastic) screening for colour separations. Unlike traditional halftone techniques, FM screening uses finer dots, preserving intricate details and eliminating moiré patterns.

Measuring Dot Gain

We measured dot gain - the tendency of printed halftone dots to expand and darken the print using a transmission densitometer. We also maintained high mesh tension with a mesh tension meter, ensuring the printed result stayed true to the original artwork.

Colour Accuracy

Colour accuracy was another critical step. We fine tuned the inks to match the colour values from the software separations, verifying accuracy with a spectrophotometer. This attention to detail in separations, film positives, screens and print sequencing allowed us to achieve outstanding results.

Award Winning

As the saying goes, “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.” This principle holds especially true for CMYK process screen printing on textiles. Through standardisation and precision, we’ve perfected our approach to ensure your orders look flawless - every time.
